Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Accident in Victorville
VICTORVILLE, CA (September 15, 2024) – A pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle near La Mesa Road and El Evado Road on the evening of September 15, authorities reported.
The accident occurred around 7:50 p.m. when a northbound driver in a GMC pickup truck hit a male pedestrian for reasons still under investigation. The driver immediately stopped and waited for authorities at the scene.
A Helicopter Had To Be Called In To Airlift The Injured Pedestrian To Victor Valley Global MC
Victorville City Fire responded and called for a helicopter to airlift the injured pedestrian to Victor Valley Global Medical Center. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was later transferred to a trauma center outside the area.
Police have interviewed the driver, but the cause of the crash remains unclear. Authorities are asking anyone who may have witnessed the accident to contact local authorities to assist with the investigation.
Officials remind both drivers and pedestrians to remain cautious, particularly at night, and urge pedestrians to use designated crosswalks and wear bright clothing to maximize visibility.
