Long Beach Fire Truck Kills Homeless Man On 2nd Street
LONG BEACH, CA (September 24, 2024) – A tragic accident in Belmont Shore, Long Beach, claimed the life of 61-year-old Michael Shaun Ross after he was struck by a fire truck early Tuesday morning.
According to the Long Beach Police Department, the incident occurred around 12:40 a.m. on 2nd Street near Glendora Avenue. A fire truck, responding to an emergency call, struck Ross, a homeless man, under circumstances that remain unclear.
Fire Fighters Pronounced Michael Ross Dead At The Scene
Firefighter-paramedics on the scene immediately attempted to render aid to Ross, but despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner later identified the victim as Michael Shaun Ross.
Authorities have not provided additional details surrounding the accident, and the investigation is ongoing.
