LOS ANGELES, CA (January 3, 2019) – A Metro train hit and injured a man in the morning on Wednesday in West Los Angeles’ Rancho Park neighborhood. The January 2 accident occurred on Exposition Boulevard in the 10800 block, Amy Bastman said. Bastman is a spokesperson with the Los Angeles Fire Department.

According to reports, the man—identified only as a 25 year old—suffered an injury to his leg. Respondents took him to a hospital in the area, according to Bastman. His condition was described as stable. The man’s name and city of residence have not yet been reported.
Where the man was located prior to the accident, and if the man was walking or standing have not yet been reported. The speed that the train was traveling at the time of the accident has also not yet been reported. It is not known why the train struck the man.
Because of the incident, an intersection was blocked where the train was stopped close to the Westwood/Rancho Park station. Investigators are examining the details, information, and evidence to develop a sequence of events and circumstances to understand what caused the incident.
