Randy Travis just became the living embodiment of a country music song.
The 911 caller didn’t know he was describing Randy Travis.

“I just found a guy lying in the road,” he told a dispatcher just after 11 p.m. Tuesday, adding that the country singer was crumpled on a highway 60 miles north of Dallas.
When authorities arrived, the scene grew stranger: 53-year-old Travis was naked, bruised and reeking of alcohol. He’d apparently run his Pontiac Trans Am off the road and into construction barricades, scattering the cones.
After Travis was arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated, he threatened to “shoot and kill officers working the case,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement. He refused to take a Breathalyzer test, so his blood was later drawn at a local hospital.
His mug shot, snapped that night, shows a hard-staring Travis with a black eye and a cut on his forehead.
When the news spread, Sherman, Texas-area residents brought clothes to the jail where Travis was held on DWI and resistance charges.
A local attorney gave the singer a Texas Longhorns cap to shield his face from paparazzi waiting outside, according to the website, and a man who posted Travis’ $21,500 cash bond drove him home.
This is Travis’ second alcohol-related arrest this year: In February, he was arrested on a public-intoxication charge after police reportedly found him smelling of booze, parked at a Baptist church with an open bottle of wine in the front seat of his Pontiac.
Travis, who has sold more than 20 million records, has won seven Grammy Awards, 10 Academy of Country Music statuettes, 10 American Music Awards, seven Music City News awards, five Country Music Association honors and eight Dove Awards from the Gospel Music Association, according to his website.
