Woman Seriously Injured in Collision with Semi-Truck on Hwy 18 in Apple Valley
Apple Valley, CA (August 6, 2024) – A woman sustained serious injuries in a two-vehicle collision involving a semi-truck on Highway 18 near Milpas Drive on Tuesday morning.
The accident occurred at approximately 9:15 a.m. when, for reasons still under investigation, a woman driving an eastbound white Toyota Camry crossed into the opposing lane. The Camry then collided with a westbound semi-truck. Despite the truck driver’s attempts to avoid the crash, the vehicles collided.
The Woman’s Injuries Were So Severe She Had To Be Airlifted From St. Marys To Arrowhead Regional
Emergency responders arrived within minutes and transported the woman to St. Mary’s Medical Center. Due to the severity of her injuries, she was later airlifted to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center for specialized trauma care. The driver of the semi-truck sustained only minor injuries.
Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances that led to the woman veering into the opposite lane. No further details have been released at this time.
