Roy Lee Anderson, Dahlia Marlies Leber Anderson, Stacie Norene Leber, and Donald Paul Elliott ID’ed as Victims in Yorba Linda Home Where Plane Crashed
YORBA LINDA, CA (February 7, 2019) – Roy Lee Anderson, Dahlia Marlies Leber Anderson, Stacie Norene Leber, and Donald Paul Elliott were identified as the victims who died when wreckage from a plane crashed onto a Yorba Linda home. The February 3 accident occurred when a small plane broke up in the air and parts fell onto a neighborhood.
According to neighbors, the people in the home had gathered for a Super Bowl party. The Andersons—who were identified as a married couple, were hosting their daughter and son-in-law. Roy Lee Anderson was 85 years old, and Dahlia Marlies Leber Anderson was 68 years old. Stacie Norene Leber was 48 years old and a resident of Corona. Donald Paul Elliott was 58 years old.
Carrie Braun, a spokesperson with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, said officials from the coroner’s office could only identify one of the victims by using fingerprints, owing to how badly they were burned. The other victims were identified with dental records.
The pilot of the plane—identified as Antonio Pastini, 75 years old—was also killed in the accident. Reports say that Pastini was the only person who had been inside the plane when the incident happened.
Investigators do not yet know why the plane broke up in the air a short time after it left a Fullerton airport before its parts fell onto the neighborhood. According to witnesses, the plane fell out of a cloud, going very fast before the tail and wings broke off.
Reports say that two people who were on the ground suffered burn injuries and were taken to a hospital. One firefighter was hurt.
The investigation is continuing.
