Collision in Westminster on 405 Freeway Kills Two People; Injures Four Others
WESTMINSTER, CA (September 11, 2018) – A collision on the 405 Freeway on Saturday involving multiple vehicles killed two people and injured four others.
The accident occurred in the freeway’s southbound lanes near the offramp for Beach Boulevard in Westminster. The time was roughly a bit after 4:00 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision involved a pickup truck and a big rig. The crash was triggered, allegedly, by a Honda that was speeding, Duane Graham said. Graham is an officer with the California Highway Patrol. A factor in the crash may have been impairment.
Responders pronounced two people deceased at the accident scene. Responders took four other people to hospitals nearby. The condition of the victims have not yet been reported.
Reports say that a pickup truck—described as a white Dodge—was sitting in a ditch along the freeway’s right shoulder. One of the vehicles involved in the collision had burst into flames.
No other details are currently known.
