One Person Killed in West Covina Collision Involving Big Rig and Car
WEST COVINA, CA (April 25, 2019) – One person was killed in a collision Wednesday afternoon in West Covina involving a car and a big rig. The April 24 accident occurred on San Bernardino Road, close to Nora Avenue and to the west of it, according to Paul Krueger. Krueger is a captain with the West Covina Fire Department.
The time was roughly 4:40 p.m.
Reports say a vehicle—described as a Honda sedan—and a big rig collided, and the Honda became wedged underneath the truck. Respondents arrived on site and transported the driver of the Honda to a hospital. Krueger said the victim was a man possibly in his 60s. The man later died, the California Highway Patrol said. The man’s name and city of residence have not been reported.
According to reports, the person who had been driving the big rig was uninjured. The person’s name, age, gender, and city of residence have not been reported.
No details have been reported on how the crash happened, or the sequence of events that led up to it.
