Series of Collisions in Victorville Leads to Arrest for DUI
VICTORVILLE, CA (August 23, 2018) – A hit-and-run collision on El Evado Road close to Luna Road called responders from the Victorville Police Department to the accident site. While they were traveling to the August 17 accident at roughly 3:27 p.m., authorities received other calls about an additional hit-and-run crash on El Evado Road and then a crash on Northstar Avenue, close to Petaluma Road.
According to a press release from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s department, the suspected driver—identified as Pink Wright, a 60-year-old resident of Victorville—crashed with three vehicles in three different accidents.
Wright had been driving a 2007 Kia Optima. The report says he struck the rear of a 2016 Ford Flex at roughly 3:22 p.m. That accident happened close to Luna. The report says Wright fled the accident scene.
The next collision occurred with a vehicle described as a 2012 Nissan Altima that had been heading southbound on El Evado. Wright also fled the scene of that accident.
A third collision occurred at roughly 3:27 p.m., where Northstar and Petaluma intersect. At that accident site, Wright is said to have struck the rear end of a 2015 Kia Sedona.
Officials found Wright at the scene of the accident, and the vehicle he had been driving showed significant damage. None of the people who had been in the vehicles that Wright hit asked for medical attention.
Responders took Wright to the hospital. He had suffered a head injury.
Officers then arrested him for driving under the influence. He was booked at High Desert Detention Center.
