VENTURA, CA (April 30, 2020) – Larry Kirby was identified by the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office as the victim who was hit by a vehicle and killed in the afternoon on Tuesday in Ventura. The April 28 incident occurred on Thille Street close to where the Thille Neighborhood Park is located.
The time was roughly a little before 6:00 p.m.
Reports say a vehicle–which has not been described–struck Kirby. It is not clear from reports where Kirby had been walking, and what line of travel the vehicle had been taking prior to the accident.
The person who had been driving the vehicle stopped and made a call to 911 and helped Kirby, reports say, until responders arrived on scene. Responders transported Kirby to a hospital.
Kirby died in the hospital. He was 42 years old.
The identity of the driver has not been reported, including name, age, gender, and city of residence.
Investigators are continuing to gather information and details regarding the accident to understand its causes.
