Ventura, CA – Chase With Stolen Car Damages Police Vehicle

Posted on August 3, 2018 | Written By: iadminlaw

VENTURA, CA (August 2, 2018) – Police pursued a stolen vehicle for at least 20 miles in Ventura Tuesday morning. The chase damaged the police vehicle, as it ended up under a car and wedged beneath it on South Fir Street near East Thompson Boulevard.

Police arrested the driver who stole the car. The reports do not reveal if any person suffered injuries.

Police saw a vehicle that appeared suspicious a little after midnight. After running the plates, they determined the vehicle was stolen.

The driver of the stolen vehicle drove away, and officers from California Highway Patrol then pursued. The officers tried a pursuit intervention technique, also known as a PIT maneuver, to stop the stolen car. The maneuver caused the vehicle to crash at a speed that was not fast.

Further information on this incident is not currently available.
