One Person Died in a Fiery Collision Near Van Nuys on the 101 Freeway
VAN NUYS, CA (December 6, 2018) – One person was killed Tuesday morning in a collision involving three vehicles on the 101 Freeway close to Van Nuys. The December 4 accident occurred in the freeway’s lanes that travel north, close to the exit for Van Nuys Boulevard, according to Juan Galvan. Galvan is a public information officer with the California Highway Patrol.
The time was roughly 10:42 a.m.
According to Galvan, three vehicles collided, and one vehicle rolled over. He said that a vehicle had caught on fire.
It has not yet been reported who the people were that were involved in the crash, or how many victims were involved. The names, ages, gender, city of residence of the victims, and injuries they may have suffered have not yet been reported.
The identity of the person who died has not been reported.
Why the crash occurred is not yet known.
Responders from the Los Angeles County Fire Department arrived on scene to help. California Highway Patrol had to close multiple lanes of the northbound side of the freeway.
No other details were available in reports. Investigators are looking into the information and evidence to determine what caused the collision.
