Vehicle Smashes into Tree in Thousand Oaks; One Person Dies, Another is Injured

THOUSAND OAKS, CA (March 18, 2019) – A vehicle smashed into a tree in Thousand Oaks and overturned late at night on Saturday, killing one person and injuring another. The March 16 accident occurred in the vicinity of Westland Avenue and Erbes Road.

The time was roughly 11:54 p.m.

According to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, two people had been traveling on Erbes Road heading northbound. As the vehicle they were traveling in approached Erbes Road, it smashed into a tree and rolled over.

Respondents arrived on scene and transported the two people to a hospital in the area, with injuries that were described as major. They were identified as a man 46 years old and a resident of Thousand Oaks, who was also the driver; and a woman 38 years old and a resident of Canyoga Park.

The woman was pronounced deceased in the hospital. The names of the people involved in the accident have not been reported.

Investigators with the Thousand Oaks Police Department Traffic Bureau are examining the details and information regarding the crash. Police ask that if anyone has information about the incident, he or she should call Deputy Dan Ambarian. The number is 805-494-8245.
