Vehicle Hits and Kills Pedestrian on Moorpark Road in Thousand Oaks
THOUSAND OAKS, CA (November 12, 2018) – A vehicle struck and killed a pedestrian in Thousand Oaks late in the afternoon on Saturday. The November 10 accident occurred on Moorpark Road.
The time was a bit after 5:30 p.m.
According to reports, a pedestrian—identified as a man who was a resident of Thousand Oaks, and in his 40s—had been heading west on foot across Moorpark Road. The victim was crossing where Moorpark Road and Mayflower Street intersect. An SUV that had been heading south on Moorpark Road hit the man.
Responders took the victim to Los Robles Medical Center trauma center, located in Thousand Oaks. The victim died there.
The name of the victim has not yet been reported.
Reports say that the person who had been driving the SUV was not injured. The identity of the SUV’s driver has not been reported. Investigators do not think drugs or alcohol played a role.
Investigators are looking into the details and information to find out what caused the accident.
