Pedestrian Crossing Moorpark Road in Thousand Oaks Struck and Killed
THOUSAND OAKS, CA (September 2, 2020) – Early in the morning on Monday in Thousand Oaks, a pedestrian crossing the road was struck and killed. The August 31 incident occurred on Moorpark Road near Wilbur Road, and to the north of it.
The time was roughly 6:00 a.m., according to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department.
A man was walking across Moorpark Road and a vehicle–described as a pickup truck–which had been traveling north, struck him, according to Wendell Campbell. Campbell is a sheriff’s deputy.
Responders arrived and transported the injured man to Los Robles Regional Medical Center. The man was pronounced dead in the hospital.
He was identified only as a resident of Thousand Oaks, 39 years old. His name has not been reported.
The person who had been driving the pickup stayed at the incident site and called for help. He cooperated with the investigation.
He was identified as a resident of Yorba Linda, 33 years old. His name has not been reported.
Investigators are continuing their work in searching for details and information.
