Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash in Thousand Oaks
THOUSAND OAKS, CA (May 20, 2019) – Chad Tsumpes was killed in a collision in the afternoon on Saturday after the motorcycle his was riding and a car collided. The May 18 incident occurred where Marin Street and Hillcrest Drive intersect.
The time was roughly 12:30 p.m., Wendell Campbell said. Campbell is a deputy with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office.
Reports say Tsumpes had been traveling on Hillcrest Drive heading westbound. A car, which had been traveling on Hillcrest Drive, made a turn to the left to Marin Street. The two vehicles collided.
Tsumpes died after the crash. He was 18 years old.
The person who had been driving the vehicle was identified as a resident of Thousand Oaks, 56 years of age. The name and gender of the person have not been reported. It is not known if the person was injured. The type of vehicle the person had been driving has not been described.
According to Campbell, investigators with the Thousand Oaks Police Traffic Bureau are continuing to examine the details of the crash.
