Hit-and-run Driver Kills Man on San Fernando Road in Sun Valley
SUN VALLEY, CA (October 22, 2019) – Late Saturday night, a hit-and-run driver struck and killed a man in Sun Valley. The October 19 incident occurred where Truesdale Avenue and San Fernando Road intersect.
The time was roughly 11:50 p.m., the Los Angeles Police Department said.
Reports say a man exited his vehicle and walked east across San Fernando Road. A vehicle—described as dark in color, which may have been a Lexus SUV—which had been traveling southbound, struck him.
The person who was driving the vehicle that hit the man left the scene of the incident, and did not stop to help. Responders from the Los Angeles Fire Department arrived and took the injured man to a hospital in the area. The victim died in the hospital.
The victim was identified only as 60 years old. His name and city of residence have not been reported.
Investigators are searching for the suspected hit-and-run driver and the vehicle involved in the incident. Police said a reward of $50,000 will be provided for information that results in an arrest and conviction.
