Multiple Crashes Involving Big Rigs Cause Problems on Southern California Freeways
SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA, CA (November 29, 2018) – Multiple crashes involving big rigs caused problems Thursday morning on Southern California freeways. The November 29 accidents occurred on various freeways.
One of the crashes involved a big rig on the 101 Freeway in Hollywood Hills. That accident occurred a little before 5:00 a.m., in the northbound lanes of the freeway, close to Mulholland Drive, the California Highway Patrol says.
The big rig hit the divider in the center of the freeway and came to rest blocking multiple lanes of traffic. It then erupted in flames. The crash may have involved a second vehicle, but investigators are still looking into the details. Whether anyone was injured has not yet been reported.
In another crash involving a big rig, this one occurring on the 134 Freeway in the area of Eagle rock, close to Pasadena, the trailer ended up falling onto an embankment located below the freeway.
Reports say that at least a second vehicle was involved in the Eagle Rock crash. It has not yet been reported if anyone was injured in that crash.
A crash involving a big rig also occurred on the 118 Freeway in Chatsworth. That accident occurred in the westbound lanes of the freeway, close to Topanga Canyon Boulevard. Reports say that every lane on that side of the freeway was closed, and authorities were diverting traffic off the freeway.
No other details have yet been reported regarding the identities of the people involved in the collisions, or what led to the accidents. Investigators are looking into the details.
