Tour Bus Hits Car on I-805 in Sorrento Valley, Injuring Three People
SAN DIEGO, CA (May 24, 2019) – A tour bus hit a car early in the morning on Friday on I-805 in Sorrento Valley, injuring three people. The May 24 incident occurred in the southbound lanes of the freeway.
The time was roughly a little after midnight.
Reports say a vehicle—described as a sedan, white in color—had been stopped on the road in traffic around construction, and a tour bus smashed into its back end. The force of the crash shoved the sedan into the rear end of another vehicle, described as an SUV, black in color.
Four people had been traveling in the white sedan. Three suffered injuries that were described as minor, and respondents transported them to a hospital. The identities of the people who had been in the car have not been reported. It is not known who the driver was, and who had been passengers.
The tour bus was reported to have been full, but no one who had been on the bus was reported injured. Reports say that no person was hurt in the black SUV. The identity of the bus driver, including the person’s name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported. The identity of the driver of the SUV has not been reported.
Investigators are continuing their work in understanding the sequence of events that led to the crash. No other details have been reported at this time.
