Teenage Boy Riding Skateboard Hurt in Collision with Car in Simi Valley
SIMI VALLEY, CA (May 30, 2019) – A teenaged boy who had been on his way to school on a skateboard was seriously injured when he, and a vehicle, collided in Simi Valley. The May 28 incident occurred where Cochran Street and Stearns Street intersect.
The time was roughly 7:45 a.m., according to Simi Valley Police.
Reports say the boy—who was identified as 14 years old—had been heading to Simi Valley High School. The boy was heading south on Stearns Street. A vehicle was traveling on Cochran, heading east. In the intersection, the boy and the vehicle collided.
Respondents arrived on scene and transported the boy to a trauma center at Los Robles Medical Center located in Thousand Oaks. The injuries he suffered were described as serious. His current condition is not known.
The person who had been driving the vehicle—identified as a woman 33 years old and a resident of Simi Valley—was not injured, according to reports. Two passengers in the vehicle—both identified as juveniles—were also reported to be uninjured. The woman’s name has not been reported. The vehicle has not been described.
Investigators are continuing to look into the circumstances of the incident. At this time, no other details have been reported.
