Shooting Kills Man And Woman In Parked CarTwo are dead after a late Tuesday shooting took their lives as they sat inside a parked car. The shooting happened in Vermont Square.

A man and a woman were sitting in a car in the 4800 block of South Western Avenue at about 10:55 p.m. A light-colored sedan pulled up next to them and fired multiple shots, according to Los Angeles Police Det. Chris Barling.

The 21-year-old woman died at the scene while the 28-year-old man was taken to a local hospital where he later died, according to Barling. The identities of the two have not been made available.

According to the Los Angeles Times Homicide Report, 10 people have been killed in the Vermont Square neighborhood in the last year alone. Eight of those died from gunshot wounds.
