Shandon Two-vehicle Crash Causes Injuries
SHANDON, CA (April 13, 2021) – On Saturday near Shandon, two vehicles collided, causing injuries. The April 10 incident occurred where State Route 46 and Center Street intersect.
According to authorities, a vehicle–described as a Dodge Ram pickup truck–made a turn to the left onto State Route 46 East. A vehicle–described as a Toyota Tacoma–had been traveling eastbound on State Route 46.
The Toyota–which had been going roughly 65 miles per hour–and the Dodge collided. Reports say the person driving the Dodge did not see the Toyota. The person who was driving the Toyota attempted to evade the crash, reports say, but the two vehicles collided, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Both vehicles had significant damage and were disabled on the roadway. Responders arrived and transported four people who had been in the Toyota to Twin Cities Hospital for treatment.
One of the patients was described as a girl, 4 years old. The Toyota’s driver was identified as 55 years old. The other two patients have not been identified in reports. None of their names have been reported.
The person who had been driving the Dodge did not want medical treatment, reports say. He was identified as a resident of Paso Robles, 42 years old. His name has not been reported.
Investigators are continuing their work on the incident.
