Man Identified as Motorcyclist Killed in Seal Beach Crash on 405 Freeway
SEAL BEACH, CA (April 29, 2020) – Robert Carson was identified by the Orange County Coroner’s office on Monday as the motorcyclist who was killed in a crash in Seal Beach. The April 26 incident occurred on the San Diego Freeway in the northbound lanes, in an area near the 605 Freeway and to the south of it.
The time was roughly 4:07 a.m., the California Highway Patrol said.
Reports say Carson had been riding a motorcycle and, for reasons that are not known, he crashed into the wall on the right shoulder. Carson fell into the lane where traffic was moving, and a vehicle–and possibly more than one–ran over him. People who witnessed the incident, reports say, told authorities that possibly two vehicles ran over the victim.
Carson was killed in the crash, the Orange County Coroner’s Office said. He was 48 years old.
Investigators are continuing to work on understanding the crash by gathering information and details.
