Semi-truck Overturns at Highway 154 and Highway 246 Roundabout in Santa Ynez Valley

SANTA YNEZ VALLEY, CA (June 2, 2020) – On Monday, a semi-truck overturned in Santa Ynez Valley. The June 1 incident occurred in the roundabout that joins Highway 246 and Highway 154.

The time was a little after mid-day.

Reports say the semi-truck had been pulling a 53-foot trailer. The big rig overturned in the roundabout for reasons that are not known.

Responders arrived from Santa Barbara County Fire. According to firefighters, the driver of the big rig had been able to exit the vehicle on his own.

The driver was not hurt in the incident, reports say. His identity, including name, age, and city of residence, has not been reported.

No other vehicles were involved in the incident.

Crews worked to contain and clean oil that leaked from the cab of the truck before it could reach a creek close to the crash site.

Investigators are working to gather details and information about the crash. The contents of the big rig have not been reported, but authorities did not believe the vehicle had been carrying hazardous materials.
