Motorcycle Collides with Horse Trailer on Refugio Road in Santa Ynez Valley; Rider Seriously Injured
SANTA YNEZ VALLEY, CA (November 27, 2019) – On Sunday afternoon in Santa Ynez Valley, a motorcycle collided with a horse trailer, seriously injuring the rider. The November 24 incident occurred on N. Refugio Road in the 1900 block, close to Highway 154.
The time was roughly 12:30 p.m, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Reports say the motorcycle collided with a horse trailer near where the Ponzo Equine Center is located. No details have been reported on how the vehicles collided, and where each was struck.
Responders arrived and transported the rider by airlift to the hospital. The rider suffered injuries that were described as critical, according to officials with Santa Barbara County Fire.
The victim was described as a man in his 20s. His name and city of residence have not been reported.
It is not known from reports if horses had been inside the trailer when the collision occurred. The driver of the towing vehicle has not been identified.
Investigators are continuing their work of examining the details and information regarding the crash.
