Collision in Santa Paula Injures Pedestrian on West Main Street

SANTA PAULA, CA (November 29, 2018) – A collision in the morning on Wednesday injured a pedestrian in Santa Paula. The November 28 accident occurred on West Main Street in the 500 block.

The time was roughly 11:41 a.m.

Santa Paula Police said that the pedestrian—identified as a man 69 years old—had been walking across the road and pushing a shopping cart. He was accompanied by his wife. A vehicle, which has not been described, turned onto the street, and struck the shopping cart. The man was knocked down.

Respondents arrived on scene and attended to the victim, who was lying in the roadway. The man had suffered an injury to his head. Responders transported the man, who was conscious, to Ventura County Medical Center in Ventura.

The name of the victim, and his current condition, has not yet been reported. It has not been reported if anyone else was injured.

The driver, whose name has not yet been reported, stayed and the accident scene and cooperated with investigators.

Authorities are looking into the details to determine what caused the accident.
