Woman Crashes Suspected Stolen Vehicle in Santa Maria; Arrested on Suspicion of DUI
SANTA MARIA, CA (April 12, 2019) – A woman was arrested in Santa Maria Tuesday afternoon after crashing a suspected stolen vehicle. The April 9 accident occurred at South Simas Road and West Main Street.
The time was roughly 2:20 p.m.
Reports say a deputy saw a vehicle that was traveling in an erratic and reckless manner on West Main Street in the 500 block. The driver would not pull over when the deputy tried to stop the vehicle. After deputies backed off, the driver of the suspected stolen vehicle lost control of it, and crashed.
Gonzalez was taken to a hospital with injuries that were described as not life threatening. She had been alone in the vehicle, and no one else was reported injured in the incident.
Deputies from the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office arrested the driver on suspicion of DUI, reckless evading of a peace officer, driving on a suspended license, and vehicle theft. The driver was identified as Keely Gabriella Gonzalez, 26 years old and a resident of Lompoc.
