Motorcycle and Big Rig Collide on North Broadway Near Santa Maria, Killing Rider

SANTA MARIA, CA (June 19, 2019) – A motorcycle and a big rig collided near Santa Maria in the afternoon on Saturday, killing the rider, according to Russ Mengel. Mengel is a police lieutenant. The June 15 incident occurred on North Broadway close to Highway 101 and Preisker Lane.

The time was roughly 1:35 p.m.

Respondents from the Santa Maria Fire Department and the Santa Maria Police Department arrived, and pronounced the rider deceased at the accident site. The identity of the motorcyclist, including the person’s name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported.

The person who was driving the big rig has not been identified, including the driver’s name, age, gender, and city of residence. It is not known if anyone else was injured in the incident.
