Crash on Highway 101 Near Santa Margarita Causes Delays
SANTA MARGARITA, CA (July 14, 2020) – On Sunday, a vehicle crash near Santa Margarita caused traffic delays. The July 12 incident occurred on Highway 101 on the northbound side of the road, near the off-ramp for Highway 58 and to the north of it.
Reports say a vehicle–which has not been described–crashed, and traveled up the embankment beside the roadway, and then came back down into the fast lane. It is not known why the vehicle crashed, and if there were any other vehicle involved in the incident.
Responders arrived to help, but it is not clear from reports if anyone was hurt in the crash. The identity of the driver–including name, age, gender, and city of residence–has not been reported.
It is not known if there were any passengers in the vehicle when it crashed.
Investigators are working to understand the circumstances of the collision, and what contributed to it. They are collecting details and information.
The crash caused traffic to slow down in the area until the scene was cleared.
