Double Tanker and Car Collide on 14 Freeway in Santa Clarita, Causing Injuries and Closures
SANTA CLARITA, CA (May 28, 2019) – A double tanker and car collided early in the morning on Sunday on the 14 Freeway in Santa Clarita. The May 26 incident occurred in the freeway’s northbound lanes, near Soledad Canyon Road and to the north of it.
The time was roughly a bit before 4:00 a.m.
Reports say the vehicles collided, but how the crash occurred has not been reported. The impact of the crash caused one tanker to overturn, according to Brian Stevens. Stevens is an inspector with the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The tanker, which has a capacity of 4,500 gallons, was full of gasoline. Thousands of gallons spilled—estimated at 3,800—which let to authorities closing all lanes of the freeway on the northbound side.
