Man Killed in Crash on Hollister Ranch Road
SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, CA (April 26, 2019) – A crash on Hollister Ranch Road killed Samuel A. Mott sometime in the interval between early in the morning on Tuesday, April 23 and roughly 1:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 25. The accident occurred close to La Pasada Road, and to the west of it, in an area that California Highway Patrol described as remote.
Reports say Mott had been heading south on Hollister Ranch Road in an Aston Martin. For reasons that are not known, his vehicle went off the road. It rolled over, and landed upside down. Mott was killed at the accident site. He was 31 years old, and a resident of Gaviota.
According to the California Highway Patrol, they received reports that Mott was missing on Tuesday, roughly around 1:30 a.m. Reports say Mott had been traveling to bring cookies to a friend who was working at Hollister Ranch in a security booth. When Mott did not return, he was reported missing.
Reports say that Mott’s mother found her son in the wrecked vehicle on Thursday at roughly 1:30 a.m. Respondents then arrived on site.
