Vehicle Hits and Kills Pedestrian in Santa Barbara

SANTA BARBARA, CA (March 5, 2019) – A vehicle hit and killed a pedestrian in Santa Barbara in the morning on Saturday. The March 2 accident occurred at the Casa Dorinda Life Care Community, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The time was roughly 10:25 a.m.

Reports say that the pedestrian—described as a man 77 years old—had been walking in the road. A vehicle—described as a box truck—hit the man as it was moving in reverse. The victim had been behind the truck when the accident occurred.

Reports say the victim—a resident of Santa Barbara—suffered injuries that were fatal. Respondents pronounced him deceased at the accident scene. The man’s name has not been reported.

The person who had been driving the truck at the time of the accident has not been identified, other than he is a resident of Santa Barbara. His name has not been reported.
