Woman Loses Unborn Child in Hit-and-run Crash on First Street in Santa Ana
SANTA ANA, CA (June 29, 2020) – On Friday morning in Santa Ana, a woman lost her unborn child in a hit-and-run collision. The June 26 incident occurred in the vicinity of First Street and Lacey Street.
The time was roughly 9:45 a.m., according to Santa Ana Police.
Reports say one vehicle had been eastbound on First Street and was executing a turn to the left to Lacey Street. Another vehicle, which was westbound on First Street, collided with the vehicle that was turning.
The second vehicle had been going at a fast speed, according to police. According to reports, the person who had been driving the second vehicle ran from the incident site.
Responders transported three injured people to a hospital for treatment. One of the victims was eight months pregnant. Reports say her unborn child was pronounced deceased in the hospital. The identity of the woman has not been reported.
The identities of the other two victims have also not been reported. It is not known what types of injuries they suffered. Reports do not identify who the driver of the vehicle had been at the time of the crash.
