Man Killed at Harbor Blvd and McFadden Intersection in Santa Ana
SANTA ANA, CA (July 20, 2020) – On Friday night, Norman Kent was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in Santa Ana. The July 17 incident occurred where McFadden Avenue and Harbor Boulevard intersect.
The time was roughly 9:25 p.m., according to Santa Ana Police.
Reports say Kent, who investigators think had been standing on the median in the center of McFadden Avenue, was struck by a vehicle described as a Jeep Cherokee. The driver did not stop to help the victim, but fled the incident site.
Responders from Orange County Fire Authority arrived and found the injured man down on the road. The victim died from his injuries. He was identified by the Orange County Coroner’s office as Norman Kent, a resident of Garden Grove, 81 years old.
Investigators with Santa Ana Police are searching for the vehicle involved, described as white in color. According to Manny Moreno, who is a police commander, the vehicle probably has damage to its front end.
Investigators are also searching for the driver, who has not been described.
