San Ysidro Crash on Beyer Boulevard Injures Driver; Damages Parked Vehicles

SAN YSIDRO, CA (October 13, 2020) – On Monday night in San Ysidro, a crash injured a driver and damaged vehicles that were parked on the street. The October 12 incident occurred on Beyer Boulevard in the 4000 block.

The time was roughly 9:00 p.m., San Diego Police said.

Reports say police saw a driver going at a fast speed, and they pursued the vehicle. The officers arrived at the incident site to find that the driver had smashed into four vehicles that were parked on the street.

The vehicle that the person was driving began to burn. Responders extinguished the fire and transported the driver to a hospital.

The types of injuries he suffered, and his current condition, are not known. His identity has not been reported.

None of the parked vehicles that were smashed have been described, and no one was inside any of the parked vehicles when the crash occurred. The owners of the parked vehicles have not been identified.

Investigators are gathering information to find out what circumstances and factors contributed to the incident.
