Multi-vehicle Crash Kills One Person on SR-78 in San Marcos

SAN MARCOS, CA (February 27, 2019) – A multi-vehicle crash in North San Diego County early in the morning on Wednesday killed one person. The February 27 accident occurred on SR-78 on the eastbound side of the freeway, close to Twin Oaks Valley Road.

The time was a little after 1:00 a.m.

Reports say that a vehicle—described as a car—crashed into another vehicle, that was described as a semi truck. Investigators think that the semi struck the divider in the center of the freeway. One of its tires blew, and the truck was stopped in traffic lanes.

It is not clear from reports if the truck was stopped when the car hit it. The person who died in the crash has not been identified, including the person’s name, age, gender, and city of residence.
