Collision on Highway 101 at Broad Street in San Luis Obispo Causes Damage
SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA (July 30, 2020) – Early in the morning on Monday in San Luis Obispo, a crash on Highway 101 near the off-ramp for Broad Street caused damage. The July 27 incident occurred on the southbound side of the roadway.
The time was roughly 5:30 a.m., the California Highway Patrol said.
A vehicle, which has not been described, went off the lanes of Highway 101, struck a utility pole, and came to a stop on the offramp.
It is not known from reports if anyone was injured in the crash. The driver has not been identified, including name, age, gender, and city of residence. Reports do not say if anyone had been a passenger in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
Crews from PG&E arrived on scene to work on the broken utility pole. According to reports, the crash did not appear to cause any power outages.
Crews also arrived from Caltrans to repair damage to a guardrail.
Investigators are working to understand why the crash happened, and what circumstances contributed to it. At this time, no other details are known.
