San Francisco Pedestrian Hit

San Francisco, CA – A pedestrian was hit as he crossed the road by a vehicle traveling at high speeds Monday night.

An older man of 49-years old was attempting to cross El Camino Real at West Orange Avenue in South San Francisco at about 10:00 p.m. when a vehicle hit him. The vehicle was traveling at a speed of 45 mph and its driver did not see the pedestrian crossing the road until he hit him. The driver of the vehicle is an 18-year old man. The pedestrian was crossing against a red light.
The injured pedestrian was rushed to South San Francisco Hospital. He suffered serious injuries, none of which are expected to be life-threatening. The driver was not injured.
Police have determined the driver of the vehicle was not impaired. The accident is being further investigated.
