Wrong-way Collision on I-805 in South Bay Area of San Diego Causes Injuries
SAN DIEGO, CA (June 21, 2019) – A wrong-way collision on I-805 in San Diego’s South Bay area caused injuries in the morning on Thursday. The June 20 incident occurred in the southbound lanes, close to Palm Avenue.
The time was a little after 5:00 a.m., the California Highway Patrol said.
Reports say a vehicle—described as a sedan, red in color—had been heading north in the lanes that head south. The sedan collided with another vehicle, described as a Jeep.
Responders arrived and had to work to extricate the driver from the sedan. The driver, who was identified only as female, suffered injuries that were described as major. Responders transported her to a hospital. The injuries she suffered, and her current condition, have not been reported. Her identity, including name, age, and city of residence, has not been reported.
Two people who had been traveling in the Jeep—a driver and a passenger—suffered injuries that were described as minor. The identities of the two victims—including their names, ages, gender, and cities of residence—have not been reported.
