Woman Walks into Traffic on Camino Ruiz in San Diego’s Mira Mesa; Suffers Injuries
SAN DIEGO, CA (November 6, 2019) – On Monday night, a woman walked into traffic in San Diego’s Mira Mesa area, and was struck and seriously injured. The November 5 incident occurred on Camino Ruiz.
The time was roughly 6:40 p.m.
Reports say the woman walked into traffic, and police think she faced the vehicles coming toward her and waited to be hit.
A vehicle—described as a Lexus—struck the woman as she stood in traffic. Responders arrived and transported the woman to a hospital. The injuries she suffered were described as major trauma to her head and two broken legs.
She was identified only as 20 years old. Her name and city of residence have not been reported.
The person who was driving the vehicle that hit the pedestrian was identified as a woman 47 years old. Her name and city of residence have not been reported.
Investigators are continuing to work on understanding the circumstances of the incident. At this time, it is not known why the woman stepped into traffic.
