Woman Walking on Kettner Blvd. in Downtown San Diego is Struck and Injured
SAN DIEGO, CA (September 22, 2020) – Early in the morning on Monday, a pedestrian who was walking in the downtown area of San Diego was struck and injured. The September 21 incident occurred where West Broadway and Kettner Boulevard intersect.
The time was roughly 1:15 a.m., according to Dino Delimitros. Delimitros is an officer with San Diego Police.
The pedestrian was walking in a crosswalk across the intersection on Kettner Boulevard and a vehicle–described as a Toyota Camry–which was traveling on Broadway, hit her. According to reports, Delimitros said the Toyota was traveling through the intersection on a green light.
Responders arrived and transported the woman to a hospital. She suffered injuries that were described as serious, including a broken pelvis and wrist.
She was identified only as 44 years old. Her name and city of residence have not been reported.
The driver remained at the crash site and cooperated with the investigation. He was identified only as 25 years old. His name and city of residence have not been reported.
Investigators are continuing to gather information regarding the incident.
