Vehicle Injures Pedestrian in El Cerrito Area of San Diego
SAN DIEGO, CA (June 15, 2020) – On Saturday night, a pedestrian was struck and inured in the El Cerrito area of San Diego. The June 13 incident occurred on El Cajon Boulevard in the 6000 block.
The time was roughly a little before 8:30 p.m., according to Robert Heims. Heims is an officer with San Diego Police.
Reports say the pedestrian had been running across the road when a vehicle–described as a Toyota Avalon–struck the person. According to Heims, the pedestrian had gone over the raised median in the center of the road, and ran into the path of the vehicle.
Responders transported the injured person to a hospital. The person suffered a fractured pelvis and head trauma, reports say.
The person was identified only as 55 years old. The name, gender, and city of residence of the patient has not been reported.
The driver was identified as a man 50 years old. His name and city of residence have not been reported.
