Vehicle Hits and Injures Pedestrian in Mission Bay Area of San Diego
SAN DIEGO, CA (March 11, 2020) – On Tuesday morning, a vehicle struck and seriously injured a pedestrian in the area of Mission Bay in San Diego. The March 10 incident occurred on West Mission Bay Drive, close to Quivira Access.
The time was roughly a little before 6:50 a.m., Scott Lockwood said. Lockwood is an officer with San Diego Police.
Reports say a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle, but the manner in which the incident happened has not been described. It is not clear from reports where the person had been walking, and what line of travel the vehicle had been taking prior to the crash.
Responders arrived and transported the victim to UC San Diego Medical Center. The injuries the man suffered included bones that were broken and trauma to his head. His current condition is not known.
He was identified only as 25 years old. His name and city of residence have not been reported.
The person who had been driving the vehicle stayed at the incident site. The driver’s identity—including name, age, gender, and city of residence—has not been reported.
Investigators are working on gathering information and details regarding the incident.
