Pedestrian Walking in Crosswalk in San Diego Near Rosecrans Street Struck by Vehicle
SAN DIEGO, CA (October 3, 2019) – Late Tuesday afternoon, a pedestrian who was crossing the road in San Diego close to Liberty Station was struck by a vehicle and injured. The October 1 incident occurred close to where Laning Road and Rosecrans Street intersect.
The time was roughly 5:17 p.m., the San Diego Police Department said.
Reports say the pedestrian had been walking across the road within a crosswalk that is marked when a vehicle, which was turning left, struck him.
Responders arrived and transported the victim to a hospital. The types of injuries he suffered were described as life threatening. His current condition is not known.
He was identified only as in his 60s. His name and city of residence have not been reported.
The person who had been driving the vehicle stayed at the accident site and cooperated with the investigation. The identity of the person, including name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported.
