Pedestrian on Sidewalk Struck by Vehicle in San Diego’s Clairemont Area

SAN DIEGO, CA (September 13, 2019) – On Thursday afternoon, a pedestrian was struck and seriously injured in the San Diego neighborhood of Clairemont. The September 12 incident occurred on Clairemont Mesa Boulevard in the 5400 block.

The time was a little before 2:00 p.m., according to the San Diego Police Department.

Reports say the pedestrian had been on the sidewalk when a vehicle, described as a Toyota RAV 4, hit her. According to reports, the SUV was exiting the parking lot of a gas station, and the driver is reported to have not seen the pedestrian.

Responders transported the victim to the hospital. The injuries she suffered were described as life threatening. Her current condition is not known. She was identified only as 78 years old. Her name and city of residence have not been reported.
