Man Walking Across G Street in Downtown San Diego is Struck and Seriously Injured
SAN DIEGO, CA (October 6, 2020) – A crash in San Diego’s downtown area on Monday afternoon seriously injured a pedestrian. The October 5 incident occurred on G Street near Third Avenue, close to where Horton Plaza is located.
The time was roughly a little after 3:00 p.m., San Diego Police said.
A man had been going across G Street on foot, and a vehicle–described only as a pickup truck–exited a parking structure and struck him, reports say.
Responders arrived and transported the man to a hospital. The injuries he suffered were described as life threatening, according to Dino Delimitros. Delimitros is an officer with San Diego Police.
The man was identified only as 70 years old. His name and city of residence have not been reported.
The person who had been driving the vehicle has not been identified, including name, age, gender, and city of residence.
Investigators are working to collect information and details related to the crash.
