Hit-and-run Driver Injures Pedestrian on Sports Arena Boulevard in San Diego
SAN DIEGO, CA (January 3, 2020) – A pedestrian was struck and injured by a hit-and-run driver Thursday night in the Point Loma Heights area of San Diego. The January 2 incident occurred on Sports Arena Boulevard, near I-8 and to the south of it.
The time was roughly 8:20 p.m., according to Sean Bannan. Bannan is a sergeant with the San Diego Police.
Reports say the pedestrian had been walking across the road, not within a crosswalk, and a vehicle—described as a Honda, dark in color—struck him. The driver did not stop to help the victim, but left the incident site.
Responders arrived and transported the injured man to a hospital. The injuries he suffered included a broken leg. The victim was identified only as 60 years old. His name and city of residence have not been reported.
Investigators are searching for the vehicle and the driver involved in the incident. The driver has not been described.
