Tractor-Trailer Flies Off 215 Freeway; Lands on University Parkway
SAN BERNARDINO, CA (August 24, 2018) – A tractor-trailer came off the 215 Freeway and crashed on University Parkway Thursday night in San Bernardino. The truck left the freeway from the southbound lanes, and was one of two different crashes that happened that night, according to California Highway Patrol.
The truck burst into flames and was reported to authorities at roughly 10:45 p.m. Officials had to shut down the street because debris, vehicles, and produce were scattered on University Parkway. Lanes of the freeway also had to be closed.
According to reports, some people who were at the scene of the accident helped to remove the driver of the truck out of the badly damaged cab.
A little before 5:00 a.m., another collision happened on the 215 Freeway, which caused CHP to close all lanes that travel southbound.
Why the second crash occurred is not yet known.
