Car Hits and Kills Pedestrian Running Across Lanes of 10 Freeway in Redlands
REDLANDS, CA (January 21, 2019) – A pedestrian was struck and killed in the afternoon on Saturday by a vehicle on the 10 Freeway in Redlands. The January 19 accident occurred in the eastbound lanes of the freeway, close to Orange Street, the California Highway Patrol said.
The time was roughly 6:45 p.m.
Reports say that people witnessed a pedestrian—identified as a man—jump over a fence located on the freeway’s south side, and then run across the freeway’s lanes. The man was heading toward the divider in the center of the freeway when he was struck by a vehicle.
Respondents arrived and pronounced the man deceased at the accident scene. The man’s identity, including his name, age, and city of resience have not yet been reported. It is not yet known why he ran across the freeway.
