Motorcyclist Dies in Crash on I-15 in Rainbow
RAINBOW, CA (November 8, 2018) – A crash early in the morning on Wednesday killed a motorcyclist in northern San Diego County. The November 7 accident occurred on I-15 in the northbound lanes, near Rainbow Valley Boulevard.
The time was roughly 5:07 a.m.
According to the California Highway Patrol, for reasons that are not yet known, a man—identified as a 26-year-old resident of La Verne—had been riding a motorcycle and collided with a vehicle. The victim and the motorcycle ended up lying on the roadway in the number two lane. Mark Latulippe—a public affairs officer with the California Highway Patrol—said that the victim and the motorcycle were hit by multiple vehicles after they fell onto the road.
Responders pronounced the victim dead at the accident scene. The victim’s name has not yet been reported.
No details have yet been reported on the vehicles and drivers that struck the victim and the motorcycle after they were lying on the road.
Investigators do not believe that impairment played a role in the accident. They are looking into the details to determine what caused the crash.
